ENGINEERING

A significant portion of project risk and over-run costs are the result of a design that lacks the foresight of construction ease. Our experienced field-tested engineers help to mitigate these risks by providing constructability reviews to design drawings. This is done both in-office with the client during the project development phase and on-site during the construction phase. Our field engineers also work closely with the project management and quality assurance teams to ensure no detail is overlooked during construction.

Don't have a project Engineer? We have you covered. We also provide full project engineering design services. This includes mechanical, electrical, civil, geotechnical and structural. And to ensure our Client gets a fully integrated solution, if the design requirements are outside of our capabilities we will lean on our partners who specialize in engineering - at no additional cost to you.

PROJECT DEVELOPMENT

Our founders understand the importance of getting it right the first time. We have seen multiple projects collapse due to improper budgeting or unrealistic schedules. This is why JHS is committed to providing services from early on in the project life-cycle. Our team’s experience allows us the foresight to predict the needs of a project and help to ensure that the project’s costs are realistic while minimizing future risks.

JHS provides the following Project Development Services:

Contract formation with contractors and manufacturers
Contract strategy development
Project Control and Processes Setup
Co-ordination with agencies such as DFO, FLNRO and BC Hydro
Review and/or creation of project schedules – construction and manufacturing
Review of permitting schedules and identification of major required permits
Facilitate and coordinate activities with government approved Independent Engineers
Bid evaluation for project contractors, subcontractors and manufacturers.
Assist in creating a project Risk Registry

PROJECT EXECUTION

Our goal is to integrate seamlessly with your team to ensure your interests are maintained throughout the life of the project. Focusing on safe and successful execution, JHS Project Management supports project development throughout all life-cycle phases including project definition & planning, construction and operations. The success of a project is heavily dependent upon the project management teams ability to effectively integrate across all project work streams including engineering teams, contractors, suppliers and Clients representatives. Our experienced team works closely with our Clients to understand key business objectives and then create a tailored approach to the management of the project.

JHS provides the following Project Execution Services:

Onsite and In-house Project Management
On Site Construction Management
Quality Control and Management
Supply Chain Management
Identification of critical resource requirements or resource gaps with the necessary experience required to execute the project
Client representation during project meetings
Creation and management of project controls including project costs, schedule, risks and the necessary transparent reporting requirements for clients.

ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT

Our environmental team will help get your project the proper permits it requires prior to any construction. Once the permits are in place, we will work with the agencies and your contractors to develop a construction environmental management plan that will ensure ecosystem sustainability is maintained throughout the project. Our team's construction and site experience coupled with our environmental management expertise will provide confidence to the agencies overseeing your project while also minimizing unnecessary restrictions and limitations imposed on your contractor building the work. At JHS we understand the complexities, constraints, and challenges of construction projects and continuously strive to provide effective solutions that meet environmental regulations, while improving construction processes without losing sight of project costs or timelines.
